Human Resources Representative

Family-owned Distributor of Fine Wine, Craft Beer and premium spirits seeking a Human Resources Representative.

Performs a wide range of Human Resource functions including but not limited to new-hire process, workers compensation audits, and government compliance filings, leaves of absence and safety.  Responsible for the overall day to day functions of the H.R. department. Answers routine questions.

Responsibilities are of a generalist nature, such as compiling and maintaining employee files and other HR-related data. Maintains performance appraisals, job descriptions, etc. Provides assistance to the Human Resources Vice President in various HR functions.

New Hire Process:

  • Meets with new hire employees and explains the new hire process and communicates background check results to hiring managers
  • Prepares new hire packets for the Richmond and Commerce facilities
  • Schedules new hires in Sales Training in the on and off-premise and other divisions
  • Administers Various Leaves: Under direct supervision, processes Leave of Absence requests (FMLA, PDA)

Workers Compensation:

  • Reports workers’ compensation claims to the insurance company and interfaces with the insurance carriers, and provides assistance to injured employees when necessary.
  • Provides assistance to injured workers and coordinates the return to work program
  • Prepares a quarterly workers compensation report for Executive management
  • Ensures proper recordkeeping of work related Injuries (forms 300A, 300) as required by OSHA
  • Daily Routine H.R. Functions: Processes various employee changes and verification of status (i.e., employment verification), and change of address.
  • Filing, ordering supplies, faxing, collecting and distributing data.
  • Communicates daily with staff to answer routine questions.
  • Updates bulletin boards and sends out announcements such as new-hire announcements, termination announcements
  • Works with the V.P. of HR and assists with updating Job Descriptions, Policy Statements, and the Employee Handbook as needed.
  • Assists with the yearly performance appraisals

H.R. Department Training

  • Coordinates employee Training Programs such as sexual harassment, computer training

 Safety Program:

  • Assists with the safety program, by coordinating safety training meetings.
  • Assists with the fleet safety program by verifying driver records and providing appropriate driver training material
